Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Experience with stranded (Fair Isle) colorwork is recommended.

Pattern Description:

Colorful and organic, my friend Carol's garden is a natural paradise filled with flowers, fruits, and a small flock of chickens. Capture the delights of summer with a warm pair of knit socks for winter's chill.

Solid, semi-solid and heathered yarns are good choices. Some hand-dyed or patterned yarns will work if the multi-colors do not also contain the color of the other yarn being worked in that area.

Gauge:

8 sts = 1" over stranded color work knitting

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Sizes (2) Women's Medium (Large)

Materials:

  • 375 (425) yards total fingering or sock weight yarn. Select many colors of your choice. Set US Size 1 (2.25) double point needles Set US Size 2 (2.75) double point needles or size needed to obtain gauge

Suggested yarn:

375 yards of Fingering weight
