Full of texture and warmth this sampler cowl showcases many of the ways a single colorway of yarn can appear, depending on the stitch pattern used. The name, Cantare, means "to sing" in Italian, and just as a song is put together from differing verses and choruses, the different sections of this cowl come together and form a larger "song".
About 5 stitches per inch in stockinette, unblocked. Differences in gauge will impact the finished size of the cowl and the yardage used, but are not crucial to fit
Nina Machlin Dayton has been knitting, designing and teaching for over 35 years. Her first professional job was as a hand knitter for couturier designer Joan Vass in the early 1980s and she never looked back. A native New Yorker, Nina currently lives in western Massachusetts with her husband, daughter, 2 cats and a dog in an old Victorian house filled to the rafters with yarn and books.
