This is a re-creation of a stitch pattern from an afghan I made in 1970. I lost the original pattern but really liked the design and wanted to use it again.
The scarf uses a single repeat of the pattern, plus a few edge stitches. 360 yards of DK should produce a scarf about 60" (152cm) long.
The pattern includes basic directions for the scarf plus written directions for the stitch pattern as well as a chart.
The original afghan used 8 repeats, a slightly wider edge, and (if I remember correctly) called for 60 ounces of worsted weight wool.
8 sts to the inch (2.54 cm) in pattern on US 7 (4.5mm) needles
366 yards of DK weight
I started knitting & sewing as a child so I've tried a variety of techniques. A couple of years ago I started writing up some of my designs for others to enjoy.
