This blanket and matching hat were inspired by the beautiful softness and adorable colour of the recommended yarn, Cocoon by Bergre de France. Candice is the name of the adorable lilac-pink colour shown in the photos.
It is a very unusual yarn, slightly fluffy and very light and airy even though it's rather chunky. I just knew I had to make something snuggly with it, and with a name like Candice, it had to be girly!
The honeycomb pattern stitch produces an extra thick fabric, ideal for wrapping little ones up in the soft warmth of a handmade blanket. The honeycomb stitch uses a lot of single cables so if you can learn to cable without a cable needle, you will save a lot of time and sanity, especially for the blanket!
14 x 17 in Stockinette st on 6 mm needles.

I have been knitting since I was 7 years old, on and off. Recently I have begun actually writing down my designs and I have now had several of them published!
