Skill Level:

small skill level requirement Beginner

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • This is a simple cable pattern. Using it as a scarf makes it a bit easier.

Pattern Description:

This scarf uses the same cable as the "Cabled Hat". If you're unfamiliar with working cables in the round, the scarf will let you practice the cable pattern flat.

The sample was knit using a single ball, about 190 yds (174 m), of a heavy worsted/Aran yarn on US 8 (5mm) needles and measures 8x35 inches (20x89 cm).

4.5 stitches and 9 rows = 1 inch in seed stitch on US 8 (5.0 mm) needles.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • As pictured the scarf is about 8 inches wide and 35 inches long (20x89cm)

  • A set of needles, straight or circular, to fit your yarn. One or more balls of yarn.

You Will Also Need:

  • stitch markers, cable needle

Suggested yarn:

200 yards of Worsted weight
