Basic Skills Necessary:

  • This hat is worked in the round using cables and texture.

Pattern Description:

I was making hats for charity and got tired of the "same old" pattern. After some searching, I found a basic pattern that seemed to work well but, after a while I wanted something a little different and added cables.

The pattern was designed for a slightly larger head, allowing for three sets of cables. It can be worked with or without a cuff.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Unstretched, the hat measures about 21 inches (53 cm) around.

  • The hat takes most of a ball of yarn, 160-200 yds.

You Will Also Need:

  • A 16" (40 cm) circular needle in US 8 (5.00 mm). A set of double point needles in the same size. A cable needle and darning needle.

Suggested yarn:

200 yards of Worsted weight
