Basic Skills Necessary:

  • knit, purl, decrease, increase, cables, short rows

Pattern Description:

This clever ascot style scarf is knit in one piece in garter stitch bordered with reversible cable edges. Instructions included for two sizes.


18 sts and 30 rows = 4" (10 cm) in Garter st, blocked

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Large Bow: 6? / 15 cm wide and 30? / 76 cm long
  • Small Bow: 5? /12.5 cm wide and 25? / 63.5 cm long


  • US size 5 (3.75 mm) straight or circular needles (Needle size is smaller than recommended on the ball band in order to achieve a firmer fabric for the bow.Please note gauge.)

You Will Also Need:

  • Stitch markers, tapestry needle

Suggested yarn:

260 yards of Worsted weight
