Hello! Thanks for visiting my profile! My name is Lauren and I have a passion for fashion and knitting. I have been knitting since I was 9, and working as a fashion designer in NYC since 2005.
Girly Knits is all about fun, fashion, color, and humor, and bringing out your girly cuteness! While most of my designs are originally intended for women and teens, many of my patterns now include girls sizes as well :) I put the utmost care into my patterns to make them customizable, easy and entertaining to read, and make sure to include lots of pictures and resources to make your knitting experience fun!
I regularly blog about the awesomeness of knitting at knittingisawesome.com, and have an active facebook page (facebook.com/girlyknits) where I post contests, polls, and fun knitting related things. I would love for you to join in and be part of the community! You can also keep up to date with my monthly newsletter which you can sign up for at girlyknits.com - by signing up you will will also get a coupon code to get my pattern Dressed Up in Love for free :)
I hope you enjoy my designs, and if you would like to get in touch, please e-mail me at email@example.com. Would love to hear from you!
As defined by Urban Dictionary, a "Bow Head" is a "woman who wears a bow in her hair, who often has an annoyingly perky personality and may be overly interested in things like her sorority". Reminds me of Elle Woods in "Legally Blond" or Shelly in "The Housebunny"! Who doesn't love a perky girl with a big bow in her hair? This headband is especially nice to have in the winter when you want to keep your ears from freezing while maintaining your cute girly style! It knits up super quickly with bulky yarn and large needles (yesssss) and uses less than half of a ball 'o yarn, so why not make a matching headband for your friend while you're at it? Have fun!
If you are a beginner knitter and want to watch a 3 part video tutorial on how to make this headband, go here: http://knittingisawesome.wordpress.com/2012/01/22/learn-how-to-make-a-knitted-bow-headband-free-knitting-pattern-with-video-tutorial/
Pattern includes instructions for knitting this headband with a circular needle as well as with straight needles!
