Boreas (Bor-ee-ahz) was the Greek god of the north wind and the bringer of winter. This reversible cowl is just the thing to keep everyone warm when Boreas' cold north wind is howling.
The reversible cables look exactly the same on the front and back sides of the cowl. Cowl is knit in the round, and is worked straight through to the end, then bound off.
Model: Quince & Co. Osprey in River.
Stitch instructions: Charted and written.
Gauge: 15.5 sts and 15 rounds to 4 inches (10 cm) in stitch pattern, blocked and relaxed (cables not stretched at all, simply laying there as if they don't care)
I have knit and crocheted, and done various forms of embroidery and needlepoint since early grammar school. Making things with bits of colored string is so integral to my being that the few times of my life when I don't have *something* on the go feel empty, and without form.
