Pattern Description:
This sweet little bag is just the right size for a wallet, cellphone and keys. It has the perfect vintage, one-of-a-kind look, but is relatively quick and easy to make.
The textured cable pattern lifts the Bijoux Falls Purse out of the ordinary, but is actually very simple and a perfect first project for a knitter new to cabling.
The crochet flower is an optional extra - full instructions are given.
This little purse will certainly get noticed, and works well for the day or evening.
Gauge:
22-23 stitches to 4"/10cm in cable pattern on larger needles; 16-17 stitches to 4"/10cm in stocking (stockinette) stitch on smaller needles.
Sizing / Finished Measurements:
- 17cm/7" square, plus handle
Materials:
- around 180m/200 yds heavy worsted wool
- Scrap of contrasting yarn for flower decoration
You Will Also Need:
- decorative button
- US Size 10/6mm straight needles
- US Size 9/5.5mm straight needles
- cable needle
- crochet hook for flower decoration
- Bag handles with slot 14cm/51/2" wide, or circular handles
