Basic Skills Necessary:

Pattern Description:

Beurre is cozy and sweet like the butter toffee colored yarn that inspired it. This crescent shawl is knit from the bottom up with a simple Garter Eyelet pattern and a ruffle as border, and short rows in Garter Stitch creating its shape. This is a simple and soothing knit, great for first-time shawl knitters or experienced knitters simply looking to relax into the season.


20 sts & 24 rows = 4"/ 10 cm in Stockinette St
15 sts & 30 rows = 4" / 10 cm in Garter St

Note: Meeting these exact gauges is not crucial, but any major differences will affect the size of the finished shawl.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 60" / 152.5 cm along top edge
  • 19" / 48.5 cm height at center


  • Anzula Oasis (70% Silk, 30% Camel; 375 yds / 343 m per 114g); 2 skeins in Toffee, or 700 yds / 640 m of a DK or light worsted weight yarn
  • US 7 (4.5 mm) needle, at least 40" / 100 cm in length
