The prototype of this was designed for my mother who suffers from AMD; it had very sparkly beads that helped her see it and also helped her feel for it in her handbag. Quick to make. It is suitable for a knitter with a little experience. The pattern includes written instructions. Also included is a pattern for a plain case (no beads). The pattern uses Debbie Bliss Pure Silk which gives a lovely soft feel. The case gets softer with use as the yarn tends to 'felt' gently. Any double knit or sport yarn will be a suitable alternative yarn. The beauty of this pattern is that by using your imagination on different colours of beads and yarns, and different yarns, you can create many different looks. A plain version would be lovely in a luxurious yarn. Why not make 2 - plain for distance glasses - beaded for reading glasses. The pattern also features in my ebook of patterns called 'Precious purses, beaded bags' for sale here on craftsy at $11.50

Like many I took a couple of decades off my knitting and crochet whilst my working life took over, but now I am catching up. I always have a hook or pair of needles close by; my fingers do not like to rest. After reacquainting myself with my old hobbies, I progresed to creating my own designs. It seemed a natural progression for me, as did running crochet workshops in the NW of England.
Those who have tried my designs will know that I love creating simple designs that look very effective, after all life doesn't need to be complicated! And I understand that many people like a bit of television or music knitting/crochet, so the easier they are the better it is to enjoy the world around you whilst enjoying your craft.
