It is its simple naivety that makes this hat so cute and timeless. It is so simple to knit that I decided to offer it for free! - an ideal taster for anyone who has not tried my patterns before.
If you are a beginner knitter or new to knitting in the round, this is an ideal pattern to try.
The pattern gives instructions for 5 sizes from preemie to 2 years and includes photographs of all the stages. It may be free, but it has all the attention to detail as the rest of my patterns.
Hate sewing up? - There are only two loose ends to weave in when you're done knitting - hooray!!
There is a pattern for baby mittens which would go very well with this hat on my blog: www.mackandmabel.blogspot.com
22sts and 28 rows to 10x10cm (4x4") square over stockinette

I've crafted all my life. I learned to knit and sew at about the age of 4 and haven't looked back. I made my own wedding dress, and I spent many happy years as a designer/tutor for UK papercraft companies and I have written magazine projects for papercraft. knitting and sewing. Now happily retired, I spend most of my time crafting! :)
