I have been knitting since I was 5 years old (and that's a very long time now!) Since my own children (and my grandchildren) are all grown up, it's lovely to be able to knit items that are pretty as well as practical and to use dainty rosebuds, pretty pearls and lashings of lace and ribbons. All of my patterns can be used for real babies too. I hope my designs bring you as much pleasure as they have brought me x
Also find me on Facebook (Wooly Wotnots) where you will find my hand-knitted items for sale plus baby items I can knit to order.
This pattern is for a simple but effective padded quilt for small cribs or Moses baskets. It is also perfect for posing reborn dolls.
The patchwork design is reminiscent of summer skies with the odd cloud floating by.
The pattern is a very easy one. All the squares are knitted in strips using just knit and purl stitches, even the embossed flowers, making this pattern ideal for novice knitters.
A fair amount of patience is needed as there is a lot of knitting but the end result is definately worth the effort. It is probably my most popular design.
Omit one of the side frills and turn it round to fit a small, modern pram.
If you don't fancy the amount of stitches required for the frills, just add some dainty lace instead.
I have also seen this in pink and white and it was adorable.
