Darling hat, easy pattern to follow, worked up very quickly. I plan to make many more.
This pattern is SO cute! I'm trying to use the same yarn that I used to make the Jaden baby boots to make this hat. Could you use a yarn that calls for US 6 needles with 5.5sts per inch? (The ply isn't noted on the label and I'm still very much a beginner!) Thanks!

Couldn't the hat be knit on say a #9 or 10 US needle with a chunky weight yarn? And instead of stockinette stitch knit the top of the hat in brioche with decreases when you get towards the crown of the head? That way the hat will be more stretchy and fit almost anyone?
