Ayano = Japanese name meaning “of color, from love”
A gracefully curving shawl worked in three conjoined segments, Ayano is a fun way to play with color and texture. Knit any two coordinating or contrasting sock weight yarns, this makes a great stashbuster. Ayano is shaped as an almost-semi-circle, like a half-donut.
Simple garter stitch stripes expand out to an easy-to-follow horseshoe lace, which is finished off with a deep zigzag lace edging.
All lace sections are both charted and written.
20 sts+ 40 rows=4” in garter st, before blocking

I love combining texture and color, the thrill of a curve or angle falling right into place, and love sharing the resulting patterns.
