Pattern Description:

This scarf began as a swatch for an interesting cable pattern I found in one of my stitch dictionaries. I think the idea was to either use one repeat of the cable in a panel of stitches or to space them on a background of reverse stockinette stitch. Not knowing any better, I worked one repeat after another, which turned out to make a pretty nice reversible swatch, which turned into a pretty nice reversible scarf.

Gauge:

4 sts and 6 rnds = 1" (2.5cm) over cable pattern, unblocked. 4.25 sts and 4 rnds = 1" (2.5cm) over cable pattern, blocked.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Approximately 6.5" (16.5cm) x 80" (203cm)

Materials:

  • 1 pair size 10 (6.0 mm) needles

  • Crochet hook for applying fringe
