I am a life long knitter, starting when about 10 years old. I've left the art at times, but returned in earnest about 13 years ago - with the birth of my first and only grandchild. I have a small family, one daughter and one granddaughter - who are "sweatered-out" as I say and aren't really interested in what I can create for them. Nor are they interested in learning how to knit.
I've recently fallen in love with designing and am thrilled to offer my patterns for others to use. Enjoy the patterns and feel free to post comments! I love reading them
I am so in love with the PBS Masterpiece Theater, Downton Abbey series. Anna, the head housemaid is a favorite character. This shawlette is inspired by the edging on her white apron that she wears with her black uniform.
Anna's Shawlette is easy to wear as a large scarf or small shawlette. It is knit from end to end - increasing and decreasing the number of stitches- while the edging is knit as you go!
It can also be sized differently, by increasing more stitches on the garter stitch side of the shawlette.
I hope you enjoy wearing it - check out my other Downton Abbey inspired pieces!
Not important, but if knit with larger needles or increasing the total stitch count, it may require more yarn.
