Basic Skills Necessary:

  • colour knitting
  • knitting in the round
  • basic double-knitting

Pattern Description:

A quick, warm, reversible hat using two-colour double-knitting with paired decreases.

Keep the ears of the ones you love warm with these two different hats. Version One is the simplest, with a possible texture variation, Version Two has a different predominant colour on each side.

An approximate gauge of 4 stitch pairs x 6 rows per inch is needed. It is measured over double-layer Stocking stitch fabric.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • To fit head circumference: 20 - 22". Hat size may be adjusted up or down by using larger/smaller needles and/or heavier/lighter yarns


  • 50 grams each of contrasting, self-striping worsted weight yarn

You Will Also Need:

  • 50 cm circular needle and a set of 5 dpns, size 5.5 mm/US#9 (or the size determined by your swatch).

200 meters of Worsted weight
