Pattern Description:

I had so much fun designing and knitting this beautiful, textured set! It looked so good on our beautiful daughter, Amy, that I named it in her honor.

I was inspired by a stitch pattern from a sweater I had made and the need to keep warm on yet another cold, January day in Iowa. The texture reminded me of the bark on our Ash tree. An easy to knit honeycomb stitch makes pockets on the inside to trap the warmth against your body.

This pattern is for the Amaliya Mittens in two sizes for women with a nice long cuff to keep out drafts. The larger size accommodates the longer length from wrist to thumb and fingers. Great for gifts or charity projects.

There are separate patterns for a capelet, hat, and fingerless mitts to match.

Gauge:

24sts/4inches in Honeycomb stitch pattern on larger needles

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

Women's Medium(Large)
Palm measured flat: M - 3 3/4", L - 4 1/4" inside will be slightly smaller
Cuff: M - 2 3/4", L - 3"
Wrist to tip: M - 6 3/4", L - 7" or as desired

Materials:

worsted weight yarn 195yards for medium(220yards for large size)

You Will Also Need:

Needles size US6(4mm) for pattern stitch, US4(3.5mm) for garter stitch, or sizes to give gauge. Whether you use double points or circulars is knitter's choice.
