Amaliya Fingerless Mitts

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • cast on, knit, purl, decrease, increase, slip stitch, pick up stitches

Pattern Description:

I had so much fun designing and knitting this beautiful, textured set! It looked so good on our beautiful daughter, Amy, that I named it in her honor.

I was inspired by a stitch pattern from a sweater I had made and the need to keep warm on yet another cold, January day in Iowa. The texture reminded me of the bark on our Ash tree. An easy to knit honeycomb stitch makes pockets on the inside to trap the warmth against your body.

This pattern is for the Amaliya Fingerless Mitts in two sizes for women with a nice long cuff to keep out drafts. The larger size accommodates the longer length from wrist to thumb.

There are separate patterns for a capelet, hat, and mittens to match.
