Basic Skills Necessary:

  • knit
  • slip stitch
  • cable

Pattern Description:

Created using Erika Knight's 'Vintage Wool' (which is 100% British), the pattern consists of slipped, knit and cabled stitches to create this woven effect fabric.

As the hat is made with worsted weight yarn, this knits up reasonably quickly on 5mm (US 8 ) needles, and the pattern is written and charted for both right and left handed knitters.

I have worked the hat decreases into the cables, so as not to distract from the pattern.

18 sts and 26 rows per 4 in/10cm in stocking stitch, knit flat.
