4 Stashbusting Infant Hats

4 Stashbusting Infant Hats

4 Stashbusting Infant Hats

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • knitting in the round

Pattern Description:

This is a great way to use up a growing stash of yarn and uses either sportweight or worsted weight yarn - approximately 60 yds per hat. Scraps of contrasting colors are also used for some of the hats. I enjoy knitting these and donating them to my local hospital nursery, but they would make cute baby gifts, and I certainly do not mind if you want to sell your finished items!

The pattern includes 4 different style newborn hats including a watermelon hat, cable stitch hat, open-weave hat and flower hat. The watermelon hat is knit on straight needles and then seamed; the brim is then knit in the round. The flower hat begins by knitting in rows for the brim and then the body of the hat is knit in the round. The other two hats, cable and open weave are knit in the round.

These are easy enough hats for an experienced beginner and knit up quite quickly. If you wish to ask me a question about a particular hat (needle size, yarn used, etc) before purchasing the pattern, please email me at woohoopepper@hotmail.com and I will answer as quicly as possible.
