Pattern Description:
The beauty of this hand-spun and hand-dyed yarn inspired the vintage details in this design. There thick, soft yarn worked beautifully with a larger needle and made for a great one-hank project!
Gauge:
Approx 10 sts = 3" [7.5 cm] and 13 rnds = 3" [7.5 cm] in Leaf Lace stitch
Sizing / Finished Measurements:
- Approx 19 1/4" [49 cm] around bottom opening, unstretched; 9 1/2" [24 cm] height. One size fits most adults.
Materials:
- Chunky Baby Alpaca (100% Baby Alpaca) from HollyTreeDyeWorks.etsy.com; 3.5 oz/100 g [109 yds/100 m] per hank): 1 hank. Color shown is "hand-dyed green shades of the forest"
You Will Also Need:
- Size 11 [8 mm]: 1 set of 4 or 5 double-pointed needles (DPNs) OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE Size 11 [8 mm]: 16" circular needle OR straight needles (ribbed part of hat is knit in rows to create the button/buckle tab) OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE One stitch marker Row/Rnd counter Yarn tapestry needle Antique button or buckle (buckle shown is approx 1 5/8" [4 cm] wide) Sewing needle and thread to attach buckle or button
