Basic Skills Necessary:

  • knit, purl, increase/decrease

Pattern Description:

This sheer rectangle stole in two sizes (petite/tall) provides a lighter-than-air layer over a bare summer dress or top. Lace knitting on both sides of the fabric produces an arabesque of interlocking shapes with crisp lines, delicate eyelets, and pretty points along the hem edges. A wide, delicate edging along the length of each side border completes the stole, which is knit in one piece.
Substituting yarn and/or needles may result in an overall variation in size.

28 sts and 40 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch (unstretched; fabric will be relaxed)

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 20(24) inches wide x 72(84) inches long (stretched and blocked)

  • 900(1200) yards of any fine laceweight yarn with 275 or more yards per ounce
  • Needles: size 3US (3.00 mm) or size to obtain correct gauge; a needle with a slender, tapered point is highly recommended

Suggested yarn:

1200 yards of Lace weight

Preferred Brand/Yarn:

A Verb for Keeping Warm Holding: Alpaca Lace
