Sword Pendant Tutorial Pattern

Category:

Jewelry

Type:

Pendant

Skill Level:

medium skill level requirement Intermediate

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Weaving with wire (free tutorial available. see description for link)

Pattern Description:

I am often inspired by music to create some rather interesting designs. In this case, I was inspired by a song about murder. Though the song makes references to a kitchen knife, I prefer more dramatic, midieval weapons. ;)

In this lesson you'll learn to make a pendant that looks like a sword. By altering the length and width of the blade you can also use the same technique to create a dagger.

This will be easier to make if you already have practice weaving with wire. You can find a free tutorial for that on my web-site. http://www.gailavira.com/tutorials (scroll to the bottom of the page to find the free tutorials).

Materials:

  • 5 3/4 inches 18g round wire (dead soft or half hard)
  • 13 inches 20g round wire (dead soft or half hard)
  • 14 inches 20g half round wire (half hard)
  • 3 1/2 feet 28g round wire (dead soft)
  • 1 Swarovski Crystal rose montee or 1 3-4mm bead

You Will Also Need:

  • Chain nose pliers
  • Round nose pliers
  • Wire cutters
  • Flat nose pliers
  • Metal bench block

Then one day, as I sat at my computer, bored to death, I picked up a paper clip and a pair of ...
