This is a PDF tutorial to make my fabulous Rivoli Rosebud Setting. It's the fastest and easiest way to capture one of Swarovski's gorgeous 14mm crystal Rivoli stones. The way it's designed, it looks like a jeweler's setting. I think it's really pretty and cool!
I designed the pattern because I loathe peyote stitching, but really wanted a way to work with those pretty Rivolis. This pattern was a dream come true, when I figured it out.
There are several options for color changes to allow for a great deal of versatility, so you can put your own style into the design. While the pattern is written for a 14MM stone, a little experimenting with the technique and you can use it to capture larger and smaller Rivolis and other cabochons, as well.
Level of difficulty: suitable for experienced beginner/low intermediate bead-weavers. These instructions are what I used when I taught the class in a bead shop. They are very thorough, with step by step instructions and clear illustrations to ensure your success. If you run into a snag or have a question, email me, I'll help if I can.
Along with how to make the setting and the bracelet, there's an idea on how to make a little chain, to hang the stone from, as a pendant.
