Pattern Description:

In this video I'll show you how to wire wrap a drilled bead to make it look like a caged cabochon pendant. The technique is not too difficult, but the finished result is one that will surely impress!

Once you learn the method, you'll be able to apply this style of wire wrapping to almost any bead you can find. I can't wait to see what you come up with - don't forget to share your finished projects here :)

* Wire length is based on the bead I use in this video. You can use a variety of shapes and sizes for this project but keep in mind that you'll need to adjust the length of wire for a larger bead. (More help with this in the notes that accompany the video).

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • .75" wide by 1.5" long

Materials:

  • 16 x 24mm (.75? x 1?) long drilled bead
  • 18 inches* 26 gauge round wire

You Will Also Need:

  • flush cutters
  • round nosed pliers
  • chain nosed pliers
  • large bail making pliers OR mandrel, about 6 - 7mm
  • ruler
