Pattern Description:

This tutorial teaches you how to trap a cabochon in a woven frame with graceful swirls to dance across the front and back of the pendant. The lesson teaches you a basic version of this style of pendant. However, with a little imagination, you can use the techniques taught here to create many different variations of this design.

This lesson calls for a cabochon, though you can also substitute a similar size bead for the cab instead. Keep in mind that if you do use a bead instead of a cab, you will need to make the frame wide enough to accommodate the thickness of the bead.

  • 20" (50cm) 20g dead soft round wire
  • 14' (4.3m) 28g dead soft round wire
  • 1 22x30mm oval cabochon

You Will Also Need:

  • Chain nose pliers or flat nose pliers
  • Round nose pliers
  • Wire cutters
  • Bail making pliers or 4-5mm mandrel
  • Marker
