Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Make a frame

  • make spirals
  • handle long pieces of wire
  • wrap wire securely

Pattern Description:

Many people dream of becoming a star... Sadly, I don't have the power to make you one. However, I can at least show you how to cover your Christmas tree (or yourself) in stars. Well, it's the next best thing!

This design can be scaled up or down to make tree ornaments or pendants and earrings. Explanations and measurements for various sizes are given in the tutorial. The materials given here will make a 7cm/3" ornament (or pendant).

Both metric and imperial measurements are given throughout this tutorial.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Size 7cm/3"


  • 25cm/10" 1mm/18ga wire
  • 2m/7ft 0.3mm/28ga wire
  • 100 size 11 seed beads (approx)
  • 11 4mm roses montes
  • 1 6mm rose monte
  • 5 8mm faceted drops or beads
  • Cutters
  • Round nose pliers
  • Flat nose pliers
  • Chain nose pliers
  • Hammer and block
  • Nylon jaw pliers
  • Jewelry cloth
  • Ruler
  • Marker pen
  • Sticky tape

You Will Also Need:

  • 60cm/24" thin coloured wire for binding
