My goal was to create something soft and lovely with my favorite big beads. Big beads make noise and look good. The ribbon softens the presentation, adds texture, and coincidentally stops 'that infernal clacking'
The aim is to have the ribbon fold around the beads, hiding and revealing . The ribbon should be soft and have enough substance so that it undulates rather than creases between the beads. Striking the right balance between softness and substance was important to me, but this design 'recipe' is very open ended (skinny ribbon/big bead, fat ribbon/skinny beads). Play with scraps to create a look that satisfies your eyes and works with your materials.

We can sew our way out of this! Been doing that for over forty years (my momma started me early). I am most interested in functional and efficient patterns that can be made up quickly that result in items that make life easier and are fun to use. Always up for a design challenge, I'm game for commissions. Let's make something good!
