Pattern Description:

This lesson teaches you to make a pair of earrings with swirls of one color of metal on top of a background of another color of metal. The photos show a pair of earring with a copper background with sterling silver swirls, but you can choose any color combination you like.

These earrings have hooks, but they are made in such a way that they look more like posts when worn.


  • 10" (25cm) 20g round wire (use whatever type of wire you prefer for ear hooks) Dead soft OR half hard
  • 6' (1.9m) 28g round wire (desired background color) Dead soft
  • 10" (25cm) 22g round wire Dead soft
  • 6' (1.9m) 28g round wire (desired foreground color) Dead soft

You Will Also Need:

  • wire cutters
  • round nose pliers
  • needle file or cup bur
  • ruler
  • marker
  • hammer (optional)
  • bench block (optional)
  • 6mm mandrel
