Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Handle long pieces of wire
  • Make a loop

Pattern Description:

This tutorial will show you how to coil, make an open spiral and weave wire to produce these gorgeous nautilus shell earrings.

It also includes instructions for a matching pendant and shows other variations.

Both metric and imperial measurements are used throughout this tutorial.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • the shells are 3cm/1 1/4" tall


  • 26cm/10'' 1mm/18ga soft round wire
  • 1.60m/63'' 0.4mm/26ga soft round wire
  • 8 5/6mm pearls
  • 6 assorted 4x6mm rondelles (or other 4mm beads)
  • 2 ear wires
  • Chain or bent nose pliers
  • Round nose pliers
  • Wire cutters
  • Nylon jaw pliers
  • Ruler
  • Marker pen
  • Jewellery cleaning cloth
