This is a high-level beginner tutorial - you should at least be familiar with tools,simple techniques such as cleaning and straightening wire, creating simple loops and spirals.
This tutorial is a progression of my beginner tutorial Charming Hearts 2 - Knowledge of that tutorial is helpful but not required.

Pattern Description:

This tutorial is the first in a series of Fanciful Flowers.

Freesias will teach you how to create the basic flower and adding the second layer of petals. You will also learn how to create an all-in-one ear wire for your flowers.

PLUS as a bonus, you will also learn a simple flower drop, wired 2 ways to be used alone as delicate earrings, or as flower dangles for the 2 layer flowers.

At the end of the tutorial you will find tons of information on tools, supplies, and suppliers with photos and direct links; and a few technique refreshers if you need them.

This tutorial is 38 pages, with 84 detailed and expertly photographed steps, with a whopping 149 clear detailed photographs which can be enlarged to 200 to 300% without any significant loss of detail or clarity, to help you complete these projects successfully. - Almost as good as having me right there with you!

Please do not be intimidated by the size of the tutorial - it covers several projects and techniques, and was written for both the visual and instructional learner.

Materials:

28 or 30 ga dead soft round wire
18ga dead soft round wire, or 20ga 1/2 hard round wire.
Top drilled (side to side) teardrops - can be Czech, CZ, glass, shell, pearl, or semi-precious 3x5mm, 4x6mm, 6x9(10)mm (can be larger if you have really tough ears*grin*) 5 to 7 beads per earring.
6 mm lentils, top drilled front to back, or Swarovski 6mm round rivoli pendant beads - 5 to 7 beads per earring.
Misc: Commercial ear wires (optional), delicate chain, headpins, jump rings (closed and open), and assorted beads/crystals for dangles.
Ruler, flush cutters
round nose pliers, chain nose pliers
flat nose pliers; wire rounder
large round or stepped round nose pliers or bail making pliers
cheater reading glasses or magnifying glasses (if you use teensy tiny drop beads)
Optional: Bench block and chasing hammer; 3mm diameter knitting needle, skewer or even a fat toothpick.
