I have made over a thousand of my felt and zipper brooches. I'm quite sure I've encountered every problem imaginable and have developed solutions for all of them.
It has been through obsessive trial and error over the course of these past 2-3 years that I'm finally able to offer these very detailed step by step instructions for making a zipper and felt brooch.
I started using the combination of zipper and felt quite by accident. It was just one of those magical moments when I had a bag of thrifted zippers and mounds of felted sweater pieces on my work table.
I will not be listing supplies.... other than the brass zipper and sweater felt. The supplies are the secret to making these lovely brooches and very easily found at any craft store.....you may actually already have them on hand!!
This is a very enjoyable craft... The zipper gives the brooch a nice weight and adds durability to the overall design.
