Always wanted to learn this ancient art??? There are many sites on the internet with "free" instructions for Viking Knit - but you get what you pay for. Having struggled with several sets of these "instructions" before I had my "ah ha" moment, I knew there was room for one more tutorial. Other tutorials exist with other methods of working this ancient technique, but we believe that our tutorial is the easiest to follow, with 49 illustrations and 25 pages of step-by-step instructions.

The method taught in our tutorial is the "5 loop method." It's a great way to learn, but not the only way to knit. Feel free to experiment with 6 loops, 7 loops, 4 loops, whatever you like. These instructions are intended to teach you the basic Viking Knit technique. What you make with your Viking Knit is up to you!

Dowel or knitting needle
Tape
Drawplate - Purchased or Homemade

You Will Also Need:

If you are going to finish off your knit as a bracelet or necklace you will need end caps and a clasp. You can purchase some or make your own.
