I've been designing beaded jewelry for about 8 years. My initial attempts at designing were to make beautiful jewelry with semi-precious (healing) stones. The beads kind of took over my life and I'm not particular what I use to design with as long as it is a high quality bead.
I can't say I have a favorite stitch or type of bead, but lately I've been experimenting with the new Twin beads and Super Duos.
Next on my to-do list is design some items with Cubic Right Angle Weave with the Twins. It works in my head, now to put thread and beads to it.
My mother used to have a necklace made of apple seed that were pierced at each end. I would look at that necklace and try to figure out how I could make that design with the beads I had. The instant I learned of twin beads, I was on the hunt to find some. As soon as I was able to buy some twins, I set about modifying the design so it could be made with beads. I named the pattern Vera after my mother.
This cute Vera bracelet design is made using Czech TWIN / super duo beads and single hole seed beads. It can be worked with the twins/super duos and seed beads alone, or embellished as shown.
