Basic Skills Necessary:

  • good needle and thread skills
  • bead netting

Pattern Description:

Start with large, succulent fresh-water pearls (8-9mm), join them with a sinuous wave of seed beads, using a stick pearl as a button clasp, and then build on the wave to make a luscious graduated-colour ruffle of seed beads.

I choose to use Czech seed beads which tend to be rounder and smaller than Japanese seed beads. I prefer the way their delicacy of size and gentle shape lends itself to the organic ruffle, moreso than the Japanese seed beads.

All bracelets shown in the pictures use three colours of seed beads in coordinating palettes of dark, medium and light, but of course you could use all one colour, or choose contrasting colours - whatever you heart desires!
