I've always been an artist/maker. I've lived as a full time jewelry artist for the past nine years. The more successful jewelry pieces evolve into classes, beading kits, bead patterns, or magazine articles. I love sharing my knowledge about making jewelry, and have found teaching and writing to be a very rewarding part of my artist life. I do a little bit of everything; bead-weaves, wire-wraps and metalsmithing. This all comes together for an harmonious whole. I really believe having all of these skills is what gives my jewelry it's unique quality and I always encourage my students to learn as many techniques as possible. I have a lot going on; teaching, writing, supplying boutiques and galleries, an active web presence, bead shows, and art fairs. I have had twelve articles published in various national bead magazines, and have two jewelry pieces in the Lark Showcase 500, Beaded Jewelry that was out in August 2012.
This bracelet evolved from my love of the symmetry of Right Angle Weave. In the pattern you will be working tubular right angle weave, connecting the tubes together so they appear to be chain, yet lay flat, and then caging 6mm rondelle Chinese Crystals in right angle weave to link everything together. It's a Zen practice to make, bringing you peace as only lots of seed beads can. When finished it is soft on the arm and will bring you lots of compliments.
