Hi, do you love to create beautiful embroidered, quilted, crocheted or hand sewn items? Me too! I've been teaching quilting for the past 30 years and fell in love (seriously in love!) with crazy quilts just a few years back. My first book, Embellishing Crazy Quilts, contains dozens and dozens of seam treatment diagrams and embroidery designs. I also love to add silk ribbon and bead to my works. It became very frustrating as a teacher to reference good instructional material for silk ribbon embroidery and other techniques. So, I now design and create my own stitch guides, templates, and patterns. I hope you will find something here on my Craftsy site that you like. Some are free as instructional handouts...and some are for a minimal fee to offset the cost of my time and supplies. I truly hope you find all of these enjoyable!View all patterns by designer (12) »
These monograms are so easy to create! Trace on to your background fabric or linen and embroidery the outline of the letter you choose. Then simply needle up then needle down to make long lines across the letters to create a lattice effect. Each intersection of crossing threads can be tacked in place with a tiny stitch, or add a bead there!
There are different lattice designs for the letters, so combining some to create words or names would be fun!
Add a border of silk ribbon roses, beads, and such for a beautiful victorian or shabby chic like of design. A design for an oval frame or a circular frame is included in the pattern too!
I created a large oval for framing with my "S" monogram, a small photo is included in the pattern. Larger photos are on my blog at shawkl.com
Hope you enjoy the pattern, I really had fun stitching mine!
