Basic Skills Necessary:

  • To be able to read and understand a counted cross stitch pattern, then using just cross stitches create the picture

Pattern Description:

This lovely picture created from a photograph of a majestic four mast schooner under sail.
The first picture shows you what it will look like as a cross stitch creation in a frame, the second shows the completed cross stitch and the third is the original photograph.
This is a professional computer generated chart, to be printed onto A4 sheets.
The chart is at nine stitches to an inch, so the symbols are not too small and easy to see.
Included with the chart is a symbol chart for DMC threads, that will give you as close a colour match as possible to the picture.
A printed picture on the front cover to give you as close a representation of the completed design.
Also included are the sheets for the thread organiser, which we suggest is printed out onto card to give the strength needed to hold the threads.
As well as the pages to tell you how much thread is required to complete this design, we hope this will help you to get started on your work.
I am sure you will have many hours of pleasure stitching your own cross stitch creation.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • The completed cross stitch is 267 x 200 stitches which measure 19.07 x 14.29 inches or 48.44 x 36.29 cms

  • Paper and card are required to print out this pattern
  • DMC embroidery threads
  • 14 count aida fabric which measures at least 26 x 21 inches

I love many different types of crafts, especially knitting, cross stitching and sewing.
I have found a new love of creating cross stitch patterns from some of the great painters of the past as well as from photographs since moving to France.
