Owls are cute and gender-neutral, so they are great for embellishing furnishings for a new baby. These owls are not your typical horned owl - they are styled on the Australian Barn Owl. This is a project for anyone who has tried and loved Counterchange smocking before, and is looking for a new challenge or an out-of-the-ordinary design. Try it on brown and cream stripes for a realistic look, or gingham in the mother-to-be's favourite colour. This pattern includes basic instructions for making a nappy hanger and wipes dispenser from your completed owls.

  • Sewing needle with long eye
