Pattern Description:

When I was a girl, my mother had a small stuffed animal that was used to hold ice whenever we got a scrape. Modeled after that pattern, this cat is worked in Tunisian Crochet Knit Stitch, and is a perfect project for beginers!


14 sts and 19 rows in TKS = 4"
24 sts and 18 rows in sc = 4"

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 4" tall, 8" long nose to feet


  • Stonehedge Fiber Mill Crazy Shepherd's Wool Worsted Weight 190 yrds, Optional: Rowan Kidsilk Haze 190 yrds

You Will Also Need:

  • US I/9 5.5 mm hook or size to obtain body gauge. US E/4 3.5 mm hook or size to obtain tail/ear gauge. Tapestry needle to weave in ends. Toy stuffing. Closeable stitch marker. Safety eyes, or felt to make eyes. Embroidery floss for nose and whiskers

Suggested yarn:

190 yards of Worsted weight

Preferred Brand/Yarn:

Stonehedge Fiber Mill Shepherd's Wool, Rowan Kidsilk Haze (if you want the animal to be slightly fuzzy)
