I can't remember a time when I wasn't creating things. My mom taught me to crochet and sew, I took art lessons, and I'm now slowly learning to knit. I love the whole crafting process, from coming up with an idea or design to seeing it take shape to enjoying the finished product.View all patterns by designer (37) »
Crochet your own little peg doll Nativity set from my easy pattern! You will be able to make Mary, Joseph, Baby Jesus, an angel, wise men, an adult shepherd, and a child shepherd. These make a fun play set for children to use to reenact the Christmas story, though because of their small size, they're not recommended for children under the age of 3. They're also perfect for decorating a dorm room, efficiency apartment, office, hospital room, or any other place when you don't have room for a larger set but still want a festive reminder of the real reason for celebrating Christmas.
This pattern calls for superfine yarn or size 5 crochet cotton in nine colors: white, pale beige, light brown, blue, variegated brown, red, black, purple, and shiny gold. You can substitute other colors if you desire.
This pattern contains no abbreviations, and uses only basic crocheting stitches. I'd call it easy, but not for beginners, though I'd be happy to coach a beginner through any parts that confuse them. I'm always happy to answer questions if something in a pattern is a little unclear. It is written in US crochet terms.
