Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Read a crochet pattern, chain, single crochet, half-double crochet, slip stitch, increase, decrease

Pattern Description:

I was looking online for an amigurumi-style Gandalf pattern, but I couldn't find a simple version--so I designed my own pattern. If you want the KAWAII, cute, big-head look for the Lord of the Rings fantasy wizard, this is your guy.

Something that sets this pattern apart is the shaping of Gandalf's iconic hat: check out the side view. The hat is designed to fit snugly on his head, and can be removed. The doll can stand on its own.

Pattern is 6 pages with 10 color photos in English. A key to stitch abbreviations and materials list is included.

10 single crochet stitches x 10 rows= 2 inches square, but size matters not.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 6 inches tall with hat, 4 inches tall without hat. 3 inches wide at base.

  • E (3.5mm) hook, grey, tan, and white yarn, (2) 9mm black safety-back eye posts, stuffing, and dry beans or rice for bottom.

Preferred Brand/Yarn:

Red Heart or Loops and Threads Impeccable
