I picked up crocheting to add crochet items to my Etsy shop, but have fallen in love with designing instead. I began making my own patterns almost instantly and am in the process of switching over from taking orders to making patterns.
I love to use different stitches to get all sorts of unique textures and looks.
This fox lovey uses post stitches to create a fun blanket full of texture perfect for a fur coat.
Also known as a security blanket or lovie, a lovey is a fun way to crochet a toy and a blanket all in one.
325 yards Worsted Weight Yarn in orange (or gray), white, and black
crochet hook I (5.5mm)
crochet hook G (4.0-4.5mm)
Yarn weight and gauge is not extremely important, just make sure you are using an appropriate hook size for your yarn of choice. An I hook with worsted weight should give you about an 18" blanket. DK weight also works well with this pattern (adjust hooks as necessary).
NOTE: The post stitches in the blanket could make this pattern challenging for a beginner crocheter. A stitch chart has been included to help those who are having trouble with the blanket.
