Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Reading a crochet pattern
  • crocheting in a continuous spiral
  • Sc, sc-inc, sc-dec

Pattern Description:

Designed for bathtime giggles and the ability to make a soft, cotton bath scrubbie. This little guy makes a great gift box topper!

I've always thought rubber ducks were just so cute. Only, I'm not really into plastics. So I decided to challenge myself to try making a crochet "rubber ducky". After I fell in love with the duck, I decided he needed a puddle to splash is so here it is!

This little ducky makes not only a great toy but is ready and willing to jump in the tub with you! When he's done you can just squeeze him out and toss him in the next load of laundry going in the dryer! (Just make sure to crochet him tight enough for the fiber fill to stay inside)

Gauge:

I used a 5.5mm hook but you'll want to use whatever hook gives you a thick, tight duck to keep in the poly fill.

Materials:

  • black embroidery thread, needle
  • small amount polyester fiber fill
  • yarns
  • crochet hook

You Will Also Need:

  • Bright Blue Cotton Yarn (approx 80 yards)
  • Bright Yellow Acrylic Yarn (approx 50 yards)
  • Bright Orange Acrylic yarn (approx 2 yards)

Preferred Brand/Yarn:

Red Heart and Lily's Sugar 'n Cream
