Basic Skills Necessary:

  • single crochet

Pattern Description:

Fit for a little prince or princess!

Our crown, in 3 sizes, is easier than it looks to make.

It has a deep purple "velvet" base and optional black and white "ermine" trim. Choose gold or platinum, and the colors of your favorite jewels.

It uses one basic stitch - single crochet, plus puff stitch, and our stitch guide includes illustrated instructions for both stitches. Written and illustrated instructions are also included on how to change yarn colors.


With small hook, 5 sc and 6 rows = 1" (2.5cm).

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Small, head circumference 20" (51cm)
  • Medium, head circumference 21" (53cm)
  • Large, head circumference 22" (56cm)


  • Sport weight cotton yarn, 200 yds (180m) gold
  • Sport weight cotton yarn, 50 yds (45m) each of blue, red and green
  • Sport weight cotton yarn, 100 yds (90m) each of deep purple and white
  • Sport weight cotton yarn, 25 yds (23m) black
  • Size F/5 (3.75mm) crochet hook
  • Size G/6 (4.25mm) crochet hook

You Will Also Need:

  • Tapestry needle (blunt point) for finishing
  • Stitch markers
  • Filler for jewelled globe
