Pattern Description:

The idea for these little guys originally came to me when browsing a book store. I love sweet little bookends for children's book shelves. When stuffed with a heavier filling (I used popcorn kernels) the largest owl makes a perfect bookend.

I had to make other sizes as well of course and suddenly I had a sweet little family of chubby owls!

Gauge:

First 6 rounds in single crochet = 2" diameter

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Small Owl - 7.5" circumference x 3" high
  • Medium Owl - 11.5" circumference x 4" high
  • Large Owl - 15.5" circumference x 5" high

Materials:

  • Knit Picks Comfy Sport or comparable yarn
  • Small Owl - 54 yds/20 g
  • Medium Owl - 95 yds/35 g
  • Large Owl - 136 yds/50 g
  • 3.25 mm crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge

You Will Also Need:

  • Filling of your choice
  • Small amount of white felt
  • Buttons
