Pattern Description:

Includes one PDF file on 11 pages with all the instructions needed to make your own sitting toy bunny with straight or floppy ears.

Pattern is written in English, using US crochet terminology. I included detailed instructions, many step-by-step photos and useful tips and tricks.

In this tutorial I will explain starting a piece with an adjustable loop (magic ring), finishing a piece, joining pieces, knotting and hiding yarn tails. Pattern includes unlimited support from me via email.

For a little preview, take a look at the first three pages -

You can use the same pattern to make smaller or larger toys by using finer or bulkier yarns. Make sure to pick a crochet hook at least a size smaller than suggested on the yarn label and crochet tightly enough to achieve a tight gauge that will not allow the stuffing to show through the fabric.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 20 cm (8") with worsted weight yarn and a 3 mm crochet hook.
  • 13 cm (5") with DK weight pure alpaca wool and a 2,25 mm crochet hook.

  • Yarn. I used aran weight cotton and acrylic blend, 92m/50g (100yds/50g) / aran / 10 ply / 8 wpi. You will need about 175g or 325m (355yds) of yarn.
  • 3,5 - 4,25 mm crochet hook (US size 4/E - 6/G) or according to the yarn.
  • Polyester fiberfill, wool, wadding etc. for stuffing.
  • 12 mm (1/2") safety eyes or buttons, beads, felt etc.
  • Embroidery floss.
  • Scissors, yarn needle, stitch marker.
  • Ribbon, thread and sewing needle.

Suggested yarn:

355 yards of Worsted weight

Preferred Brand/Yarn:

Washed Haze Aran
